What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Project Manager position at SunLine Transit Agency?
Under general supervision, the Associate Project Manager performs specialized administrative and technical duties to support the Chief of Capital Projects in the management of Projects. The Associate Project Manager will work with the Project Manager(s) to provide proper administration of SunLine Transit Agency’s projects. The Associate Project Manager and the Project Manager(s) will work together to help guide the third-party entity and their projects through the SunLine Transit Agency required design review authorizations, and construction oversight (including project close-out) with a focus on project reporting and tracking of schedules and budgets. The incumbent must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, a general understanding of technical concepts as well as strong oral and written communication to assist management with achieving project timelines, objectives and goals.

- Assist in the delivery of projects.
- Assist in analysis and appraisal of current project status and forecast of activities in order to ensure completion of project on schedule and on budget.
- Prepare project related correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, charts and presentations utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prepare technical documentation as directed including but not limited to memorandums, project initiations, close outs, schedules, scope of work, spreadsheets to track and report specific data, etc.
- Monitor and track project timelines.
- Organize and prioritize workload, assist Project Manager(s) in identifying project needs/requirements.
- Coordinate project tasks with other personnel, including contract administration staff, field staff and other project managers, as required.
- Coordinate project tasks with other SunLine Transit Agency departments.
- Work independently in addressing complex tasks in a time sensitive environment.
- Follow up on actions required for task completion while seeking guidance as necessary.
- Attend off-site meetings as necessary.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years of experience in project administration or coordination duties. Must have some familiarity with technical concepts.
- Government contracting experience is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, confidentiality, multi-tasking, time management and interpersonal skills.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication skills with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Adhere to rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of SunLine Transit Agency including the EEO, anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, and anti-retaliation policies.
Substitutions Include
An Associate's Degree from an accredited institution and additional two years of experience in project administration or coordination duties may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement.
PREFERENCES INCLUDE:
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Business Administration from an accredited institution.
• Experience providing project support in a transit and/or design or construction environment.
Licensure:
A valid Class C California driver’s license; the ability to qualify for and maintain a Class C license; and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency’s insurance policy.
Salary : $63,822 - $82,968
