SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sanitation Sanitizer must understand how to work with necessary chemicals, work at a pace that delivers a clean plant to production (the customer) on time and abide by company policies, including satisfactory attendance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Learn to clean in place (CIP):
• Learn to Clean non-food contact equipment such as packers, case sealers, etc.
• Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, etc. up to 50lbs. and move 500lb. barrels with barrel lifting equipment.
• Wear employer-specified PPE (gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.).
• Exposure to chemicals (with PPE required for the task).
• Standing, lifting, bending, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, climbing ladders, frequent walking during shift.
• Follow all safety rules when handling all chemicals and equipment. Use all support equipment (ladders, foamers, chemical dispenser pumps, forklift, scissor lifts, floor scrubbers, etc.) safely and properly.
• Understand Lock-out/Tag-out policy as an “Affected Worker”.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

This position requires food safety and safety awareness, attention to detail, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. All sanitizer candidates must pass a math test which is administered by the Sanitation Manager and sign off on the job description work sheet prior to the start of training. This position also requires the following certifications: forklift and scissor lift. Must not be afraid of heights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position would involve you to be in a wet, hot, and/or cold environment.
