What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Meat Cutter position at Sunny Farms Inc.?
Sunny Farms Country Store has grown from a seasonal fruit stand into a second-generation full-service grocery with farming and cattle operations both on the Dungeness and in Othello, WA. Known for its emphasis on natural foods, farm-fresh produce and beef, Sunny Farms is looking for a part-time non-union meat cutter to help keep the display cases full. This could be a perfect job for a semi-retired butcher.
Responsibilities:
- Process various types of meat by trimming, cutting, and chopping by utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
- Manage inventory control with an adherence to the FIFO system to ensure optimal freshness.
- Prepare and present meat products in display cases with appealing and accurate labeling.
- Stock shelves
- Follow safety protocol
We are looking for an individual with the following attributes:
- Positive and friendly attitude
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as take direction from supervisor
- Available early mornings including weekends (More hours or varying shifts may be needed to cover vacations)
- Minimum of 5 years cutting experience
- Meat grinding experience helpful
