Dental Anesthesiologist Role Overview
As a Dental Anesthesiologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-level anesthesia care to pediatric patients during in-office surgeries. You will work closely with Pediatric Dentists to ensure optimal patient experiences and provide expertise in administering anesthesia for children with dental anxiety or specific needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized anesthesiology services within a dental practice, adapting to different clinical environments alongside a Pediatric Dentist.
- Collaborate with Pediatric Dentists to optimize patient cooperation through skilled anesthetic administration and airway management.
- Focus on patients who require more than local anesthesia, such as children with dental anxiety, pediatric patients, or those with specific physical or cognitive disabilities.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology Residency.
- Current, valid medical or dental license in good standing.
- Required certifications include PALS, BLS, DEA, etc.
- Demonstrated capability in anesthesia delivery, including intravenous deep sedation and general anesthesia.
- Ability to work closely with dental teams, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
