Astria Health is seeking a Medical Technologist Lead to join our team! This will be a day shift position.

As the Technical Supervisor, you will providing day to day supervision of laboratory staff and reporting of test results. This role also functions as a Medical Technologist within the lab as needed. You will:

• Performs testing in a responsible manner within reasonable time depending upon circumstances
• Evaluating and verifying various medical instrumentation in the laboratory and communicating results to the laboratory manager and pathologist for approval
• Assigning proficiency testing to technologists and lab assistants as appropriate
• Perform or assign six-month Cal/Ver for applicable analytes
• Audit blood bank transfusion records regularly and reports to manager
• Maintain the quality management program which monitors the personnel conducting the preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of testing to assure they are competent, maintain competency, identify needs for remedial training/continuing education to improve skills to meet the established thresholds and expectations
• Ensure that patient results are only reported when the test systems are functioning properly
• Identify quality control issues and assist in troubleshooting resolution
• Review IQCP’s annually to look for any changes that need to be made
• Assist in maintaining annual competency of personnel
• Other duties as assigned
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.

What you bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or related science, or have passed the HEW exam to qualify for Medical Technologist.
• National certification from ASCP, AMT, NCA.
• Oral and written fluency in the English language

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive compensation range for candidates hired into each position. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. This position is not associated with a union contract.
