Position Overview & General Responsibilities:
We are currently looking to grow our PRN LPN or RN team members within our healthcare team! Unfamiliar with Sunnyside, but want to check out our campus? Shadowing opportunities are available by appointment only! The primary responsibilities of the staff nurse include, but are not limited to, administering medications as prescribed, documenting resident interactions, observing changes in health, wound care, assisting with admissions and discharges, supervising C.N.A’s, and ensuring residents needs are met. It is a top priority that our team members provide person-centered care, while respecting and promoting each resident’s rights, and always maintaining a clean and safe home-like environment.

- Shift Differentials: $2.00/hr for evening hours (3pm-11pm) and $2.50/hr for night-time hours (11pm-7am). $3.00/hr when working on Saturday and Sunday (in addition to evening/ or night shift differential).

Requirements
- Must be a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Must be graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Supervisory skills required; experience preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred or ability to learn.
- CPR certified or ability to obtain.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to work in stressful environment and deal with medical emergency situations.
- Ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action based upon the information available.
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals.
Environmental and Physical Considerations: This job operates in a residential style nursing environment with normal lighting levels (except where lighting is reduced in resident rooms), comfortable temperature ranges, good air quality, ventilation and low noise levels. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Additionally employee will routinely sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 60 lbs or less and occasionally more than 60 lbs. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
