The requirement is for one professional service contractor to work full-time for the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), providing system administration support to the MSPB IT Operations Team, including emergency outage support. The MSPB will not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn, is responsible for the MSPB.
- The System Administrator will support IRM’s IT operations by managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory Hybrid environment, Entra-ID, Azure, Intune and AutoPilot, ensuring secure and efficient configuration, deployment, and management of laptops, mobile devices, applications, and security policies.
- This role involves implementing mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) strategies, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with security and organizational standards.
- The System Administrator collaborates closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure that corporate devices and applications are effectively managed and secure.
- The Administrator will also document procedures, write and maintain change control records.
- Provide on-call support for after business hours server outages.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot servers including DNS, DHCP, AD, ADFS, and Nutanix virtual servers.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMWare VDI)
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft InTune, Autopilot and Endpoint for laptops and mobile devices.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365 cloud applications
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure
- Build new servers as necessary including Domain, DNS, DHCP, AD, and Nutanix virtual servers.
- Restore servers from backup as necessary.
- Perform server performance troubleshooting.
- Perform server security auditing and recommend security improvements.
- Create and maintain change management and documentation for system administration.
- Provide weekly status reports on all activities.
- Perform high level of customer service and care with effective and professional communication with all levels of MSPB staff.
Hours of Operation: 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday (30 minute Lunch)
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years' experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes:
- Experience working with Microsoft Intune.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft o365 and Azure ecosystems.
- Experience with Windows Autopilot and device provisioning.
- Experience managing application deployment and policy management across diverse mobile environments.
- Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune and Autopilot.
- Administering on-premises/cloud Active Directory and Active Directory Federated Services.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and iOS device management through Intune.
- Extensive experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD), Conditional Access, and Azure AD Join.
- Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and configuration tasks.
- Administering /troubleshooting DNS servers.
- Administering /troubleshooting DHCP servers.
- Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Endpoint for laptops and mobile devices.
- Administering /troubleshooting Office 365 cloud applications.
- Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange.
- Intermediate understanding of Linux commands and troubleshooting.
- Writing change control and server documentation.
- Minimum Education:
- Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or other relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure, Intune) are required.
- A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and / or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification is preferred.
- An associate's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline is required. With a bachelor's degree (in the fields described above), four years' experience of which at least two years must be specialized. With eight years' experience of which at least six years are specialized, a degree is not required.
