FUNCTION: Drive the efficient and profitable performance of Truss Laborers by applying effective management principles and in accordance to customer needs and organizational priorities.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Provide on-site supervisor of floor and roof trusses in accordance to customer expectations and company procedures.
- Drive individual and team performance through the effective evaluation, training and management of Truss Laborers and related positions.
- Assist in the effective recruitment, onboarding, and development of new employees.
- Analyse individual and team performance to identify skill gaps and training needs.
- Track, collect, and submit all necessary data for the timely, error-free processing of payroll.
- Successfully translate work orders and building instructions into a quality finished product.
- Perform duties of Truss Laborer, Sawyer, etc. as needed:
- Accurately cut angles in wood for trusses.
- Hammer gussets/plates onto trusses.
- Run trusses into roller machine.
- Move and stack trusses.
- Operate equipment as trained and in accordance to designated safety standards.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Strong supervisory skills and team management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical mathematic and measuring skills.
- Able to function effectively as part of a high-performance production team.
- Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
- Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 50 lbs of force regularly.
- Repetitive impact motion associated with hammering and other such construction activities.
- Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
