Position Overview
The FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I is responsible for maintaining and repairing various systems and equipment within our facilities to keep operations running smoothly. The technician conducts preventative maintenance and assists with projects assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager. Attendance and personal accountability in this role are critical. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Maintain assigned work areas at the highest possible cleanliness and organized level.
- Maintain a high level of personal and environmental safety; use of appropriate PPE/GMP safety.
- Perform routine and general maintenance on plant equipment.
- Weld and install equipment following safety protocol and instructions.
- Complete work orders in order of priority and production needs
- Ensure all assigned paperwork is completed accurately and daily.
- Operate forklift and skid loader safely.
- Maintain and promote communication between all departments and management.
- Performs all miscellaneous duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.
- Must perform tasks in accordance with Sunrich’s GMP Policies and Procedures and all Food and Safety Procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires a High School Diploma/GED.
- 1-3 years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing/Food Industry environment experience
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position involves lifting up to 50 pounds frequently in a sunflower manufacturing facility. Work is performed indoors, outdoors, and in areas that are not heated or air-conditioned. Work may also be performed in a climate-controlled environment. May be exposed to extreme weather elements on occasion. Requires frequent standing, kneeling, reaching, lifting, bending, stooping, crawling, crouching, and twisting. Frequent climbing and descending staircases and ladders.
