Job Overview
Sunrise School, an accredited early childhood education center, is seeking an energetic, patient, and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our dedicated team. Our school holds the Gold Seal Quality Care Program Approval from Tallahassee and is Quality Program Certified by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC) for Early Care and Education Programs. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports each child’s developmental needs while adhering to important regulatory and accreditation requirements. Teachers must be reliable, proactive, and able to manage time-sensitive documentation and compliance tasks to maintain the school's prestigious accreditations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that align with educational standards and promote literacy and learning through play.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Provide individualized care and attention, with a focus on toddler care and supporting children with special education needs.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build positive relationships and promote a strong school community.
- Monitor children’s progress and behavior, sharing developmental updates and insights with families.
- Plan and facilitate activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring classroom space that reflects children’s learning and creativity.
- Complete and maintain required documentation in a timely manner, including daily reports, incident logs, developmental assessments, and lesson plans, to ensure ongoing compliance with Gold Seal and NAC accreditation standards.
- Participate in periodic classroom observations, professional development, and internal audits to uphold the school’s high standards.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share ideas, enhance curriculum, and continuously improve teaching practices.
Qualifications
- Completion of the 45-hour DCF State Training requirement (mandatory).
- Preferably holds a National CDA (Child Development Associate) credential.
- Prior experience working in Early Childhood Education or a similar setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and creative individuals who are committed to supporting young children’s growth and development.
- Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet regulatory deadlines in alignment with state and national accreditation requirements.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with a commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
