Summary:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the management, supervision,
coordination, utilization, and monitoring of daily clinical and administrative
operations, specifically active in the development of the clinical oversight of
programs, the quality of care initiatives, and the direct supervision of complex
cases. This oversight includes the following services: Intensive In-Home (IIH), and
Community Support Team (CST). The enhanced services are considered
community-based mental health, behavioral health, and substance use support
programs to assist clients and consumers. IIH specifically supports children and
adolescents while CST supports the adult population. This position shall ensure
that the services are delivered by the agency’s internal protocols, rules,
policies/procedures, and MCO’s procurement contract.
The Enhanced Service Director shall be a board certified and/or licensed
professional in one of the following licensed discipline categories:
- Social Work
- Psychology/Psychiatry
- Counseling/Therapy
- Addiction
Accompanied by a minimum of three (3) years in mental health and substance abuse
services with both child and adult populations.
Job Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- As needed review and audit progress notes to ensure they meet quality service
standards before billing.
- As needed review and scrutinize initial and revised Person-Centered Plans
(including the discharge/transition plan), treatment plans, discharge summaries,
diagnostic assessments/addendums, and Comprehensive Crisis Plans/Crisis Plans.
- Initiate (at minimum) monthly case staffing with teams to review, discuss and
conclude issues identified, problem resolutions, and service options for client
services. The frequency of meetings may vary depending on necessity.
- Assist program staff with application of clinical interventions and provide
training when needed.
- Supervise all Team Leads (IIH & CST) through monthly meetings.
- Hold Team Leads accountable for Weekly Team Meetings and attend as needed
to observe, assess, discuss, evaluate, and document clinical components/topics of
service delivery.
- Participate in scheduled weekly meetings, MCO meetings, and other scheduled
meetings requested by CEO, Clinical Director, and/or QI-QA Director.
- Remain fully aware of newly and currently authorized/discharged consumers for
each program, time constraints and unit numbers to make critical decisions
regarding agency business practices.
- Participate in open and closed chart audits.
- Ensure via highly organized oversight that NC TOPPS, intakes,
transition/discharge planning, follow-up contacts, non-billable notes, and other
pertinent information/documentation are adequately generated, completed, and
submitted.
- Knowledge of community mental health systems and community resources.
- Knowledge and experience in diagnostic and treatment procedures, i.e. DSM-5.
- Maintain practices that ensure appropriate utilization and billing for enhanced
services such as, but not limited to, checking authorization status as applicable and
working with the intake/referral department regarding Medicaid insurance
verification.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Human Resources Manager regarding
staffing needs and requirements.
- As needed collect and review weekly contact schedules and make adjustments
- Coordinate discharge functions: i.e. (1) schedule, coordinate, and document the
discharge planning meeting with clinical staff, client, or responsible legal person(s)
to discuss anticipated discharge, (2) ensure transition/discharge documentation is
accurately completed and submitted.
As required, participate and receive monthly supervision.
Some travel may be required when urgent matters within programs emerge, or
as general oversight is implemented.
Some travel may be required for networking/marketing efforts.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
