Little Learners Vision:
Little Learners not only provides childcare but is often the first-place young children experience being in a multicultural social context, having never been outside of their parents' or guardians’ care and prior to attending school. These young children come through our door, perhaps not knowing any English. For some, it is their second or third language. Little Learners strives to care for children through the fostering of their social and linguistic development.
Little Learners Teacher (LLT):
The Little Learners Teacher (LLT) will lead and/or support multiple 2-hour childcare sessions at IRC on an agreed-upon schedule each term. Reports to and follows the determined program from the Little Learners Coordinator. Leading a session includes opening, facilitating the activity schedule, overseeing volunteers, managing children, and closing. Requires daytime and some evening hours. M-TR, per diem, for a 42-week session calendar. Terms are mid-August - December; Mid-January - Mid-May; June and July. Additional in-service days as required.
Position Summary:
With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Little Learners Teacher will:
- Open and close the session.
- Facilitate classroom activities schedule for children ages 6 months – 12 years.
- Track attendance for each session.
- Monitor and facilitate the time and activities for the children and oversees volunteers in the session.
- Facilitate developmental and age-appropriate learning opportunities for all children.
- Maintain, organize, and clean the classroom throughout the session.
- Manage the childcare classroom.
- Communicate to parents with navigators (language & cultural support) about any needs or concerns with a child.
- Attend meetings as requested and attend monthly staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 1-year previous Childcare/ Early Childhood Education experience.
- 1-year previous experience working with children and planning age-appropriate activities.
- First Aid & CPR Certified.
- Complete the Mandatory Reporter Training upon hire.

Current immunizations are required to work at Sunrise Community Health and may vary dependent upon the position. Influenza (Flu) Vaccine is required for ALL staff. COVID vaccine is highly encouraged.
