Position Summary:
The General Manager / General Service Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our services and facility, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of care while managing a team of dedicated staff. This position involves direct interaction with clients and their guardians, strategic planning, resource management, and compliance oversight to optimize service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:Team & Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise employees, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support to staff.
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss goals, challenges, and best practices in client care.
- Promote a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
Client Interaction & Resident Care:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and their guardians, addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Collaborate with guardians to create individualized care plans and assess client progress.
- Handle resident and family concerns with empathy, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in our services.
Service Scheduling & Operations Management:
- Oversee the scheduling of services to ensure adequate coverage and support for all clients.
- Coordinate with staff to adapt schedules as needed based on client needs and staffing availability.
- Monitor and adjust service delivery to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring quality care and service delivery.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relating to the care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare for inspections and audits.
- Collect and analyze client feedback to continuously improve service offerings.
Budget & Financial Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the budget for services to ensure financial sustainability.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.
- Experience in managing budgets and forecasts related to staffing, including the ability to make informed hiring and termination decisions.
Community Engagement & Outreach:
- Act as a liaison between the facility and community organizations to promote inclusivity and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Sociology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, preferably in an IDD setting.
- Proven experience in a management role within healthcare or social services.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client-centered care.
- Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in the care of individuals with IDD.
- Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
This position may require flexibility in hours to accommodate client needs and staff schedules. The General Manager / General Service Manager will primarily work in an office setting but may also visit service locations as needed.
