Description
SUMMARY:
The Associate Grain Accountant is responsible for providing accounting, bookkeeping and customer service support for the daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions within the grain department.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process purchase settlements and issue payments to producers.
· Process sales settlements and invoices.
· Reconcile ledger activity with accounting software daily.
· Perform all Month End processes.
· Confirm and file all contracts received.
· Assist in answering phones as needed
· Submit reports in a timely, accurate manner, as required by the manager.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
· Ability to work long varied hours/days as business dictates.
Qualifications
· Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, preferred.
· Grain accounting or financial accounting experience, preferred.
· Experience with agricultural accounting software, preferred.
· Analytical and mathematical skills as related to basic business practices and procedures.
· Skilled and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
· Able to perform in a time sensitive and seasonally challenging (harvest) environment.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
