SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting in the growth and profitability of the Agronomy, Energy and Grain Departments through effective service and maintaining good customer service as per company standards. It is unique in that the individual will work as an energy and grain employee totaling three to four months per year during the busy times of those divisions in addition to custom application duties, soil sampling, delivering crop inputs, equipment maintenance and assisting to keep a clean and orderly work environment and facility. Energy duties would entail delivering propane, lubricants, fuel and conducting energy service work. Grain duties would include grading grain from inbound trucks, dumping trucks and loading outbound trains and trucks for the end user.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform custom application duties on customer fields using custom application equipment as assigned by Operations Manager. Must adhere to Sunrise Cooperative standard operating procedures for application of such products.
- Accurately document wind speed, temperature, soil-field conditions, wind direction, start and finish time using an iPad and dispatching software.
- Deliver seed, crop protection and crop nutrient products to the farm with Semi, Strait Truck or Pickup Truck.
- Soil sample using an automated probe and UTV. Documenting accurate sample locations using GPS Technology.
- Inspect vehicle and document on daily driver’s report.
- Perform regular maintenance of equipment (i.e., grease equipment, minor repairs, and wash equipment) and accurately document work done in maintenance log.
- Keep assigned vehicles, equipment and work areas clean.
- Adhere to all company and government policies and laws concerning transportation and handling of all products hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Assist in repairs of facilities and equipment.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all necessary paperwork.
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting customers, maintaining outstanding standards, and solid product knowledge
- Project a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster enhanced public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor.
- Effectively communicate with customers and associates.
- Adhere to all company and government safety policies and laws (i.e., viewing safety films, understanding right to know laws, fire, and explosion precautions, lock out - tag out, etc.)
- Have flexibility for required overtime hours above the normal eight hour day during all busy times.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the Energy and Grain Divisions in their busy times, conducting assigned maintenance, loading, delivering, and unloading products as well as various duties and will report to either Wilmington Energy Manager or Grain Manager while assisting in Energy and Grain during these times.
- (Energy) Be available for and conduct after hours energy “Emergency On-Call” service for when scheduled.
- (Grain) Be available for after hours grain train loading when scheduled.
- Other jobs as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Must have class A CDL with a Medical Card and Haz-Mat or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date.
- Ability to obtain an Ohio Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide License in the necessary categories.
- Must have ability to use computer, smart tablet and smart phone.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
