What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Photography and Social Media Camp Staff position at Sunrise Day Camp-Greater Philly?
Sunrise Day Camp, for children ages 3 - 16, is the only dedicated full summer day camp in the world for children with cancer and their siblings. It is a camp designed to meet the emotional, social, recreational and physical needs of these children while allowing them to enjoy the comforts and safety of their own homes at night.
Best of all, Sunrise Day Camp is offered free of charge to all children being treated for cancer and their siblings on a non-sectarian basis. By raising the needed funds from outside sources instead of charging the parents, we can help to alleviate some of the costs, and the related stress, that parents incur caring for a sick child throughout the year. Children who have received medical clearance from their physicians are welcome to attend. Though 7 weeks of camp programming is offered, children may register and attend any and every day they feel well enough to do so.
Staff Position
For summer 2025, we are seeking a Photography-Social Media staff who can help take pictures of our campers on a daily basis. In addition to serving as our camp photographer, this person will organize photos on a shared platform, upload photos on a daily basis to social media sites, and make weekly slideshows highlighting our camper's time at camp. While these are the main responsibilities, Sunrise maintains an all hands on deck mentality and if something outside of these tasks needs to get done, this person will share in the effort.
Qualifications:
Must attend the entire duration of the camp season
Must love children
Must be computer and social media savvy
Must be comfortable and have experience using a camera
Must be organized
Must be Covid-19 vaccinated
