Early Intervention Special Instructor (SI)
POSITION:
The primary purpose of the Special Instructors is to work with families while providing Special Instructors services to infants and toddlers (birth to five) who have qualified for Early Intervention services.
Job Highlights:
- Homes and Daycares- 8am-6pm (7 days per week. Could have some sessions after 6pm. Very minimal)

Full Time- Base plus bonus $55K-$80K
Part Time- Fee for Service $52.00-$57.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide early intervention services consistent with professional standards of IFSP/IEP goals.
- Design the learning environment and activities to encourage the infant or toddler to acquire developmental skills, cognition and social skills. Work with family and caregivers to establish daily routines to increase learning.
- Provide information and resources to families of a disabled child.
- Provide families with corrective action and/or support to enhance child’s ability to benefit from their educational environment.
- Adhere to all federal, state and county guidelines for early intervention.
- Participate in Individualized Family Service Plans as indicated.
- Ensure all students are serviced in their least restrictive environment.
- Plan and organize instruction in ways to maximize the child’s learning.
- Implement curriculum that encourages goal attainment as per the IFSP.
- Understand the special needs of the child and advocate for the child with others.
- Attend and participate in meetings as needed.
- Maintain all documents as per county policy and document findings timely, accurately and adhering to all educational guidelines.
- Complete billing and bill patients accurately and ethically for services rendered.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient records.
- Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, patients and patient families.
- Comply with all company policy and procedure and safety guidelines.
- Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled hours.
QUALFIICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood education, special education, child development or family studies.
- One year experience working directly with pre-school children (Birth to 5) or children with disabilities and their families.
- Early childhood special education certification is a must with 6 months part C/EI experience
- Complete competencies as state mandated.
