SUMMARY: Serve as head coach of an elementary athletic sport following Laramie County School District #1 guidelines; responsible for aspects of the program including specific instructional techniques, curriculum, and philosophy of the sport. Coordinate assistant coaches and volunteers, practices, and other administrative duties.

Job Tasks Descriptions
- Supervise, organize, and lead practice sessions to develop the sport’s skills and sportsmanship with elementary students in the sport. Always ensure student safety and make sure student athletes are equipped for safety.
- Implement LCSD#1 elementary sport’s curriculum during practices.
- Supervise assistant coaches and volunteer coaches.
- Attend and monitor all practices and sporting events.
- Communicate with athletes and parents regarding practice schedules and events.
- Conduct administrative responsibilities including inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
- Follow all Laramie County School District #1 guidelines.
- Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgments related to the sport participants.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous coaching or participation experience in the sport preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
- Scheduling, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate sportsmanship with all athletes, parents, and community members.
- Knowledge of the sport.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Ability to maintain honesty and integrity in all aspects of the job.
- Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and punctual employee presence.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Trustees policies, District policies, and building and department procedures.

- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate/required safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
- Act as a positive role model and representative of the school and LCSD#1.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of sport equipment to provide proper maintenance and storage.
- Knowledge of sport equipment to ensure proper use and safety of student athletes.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE:
- Responsible for assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training of assistant coaches; assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; and assisting with addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Responsible for supervising the behavior and well-being of students in the program.
