Sunrise Engineering is currently initiating a search for a full-time Survey Crew Chief to support our growing organization. This Full Time position is based in our Richfield, Utah office during our business hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM.

A Day in the Life of a Survey Crew Chief 

As a Survey Crew Chief at Sunrise Engineering, each day unfolds with a sense of purpose and excitement as you conduct boundary surveying in the mountains or in town, construction staking on highway road projects, design surveys for the engineering groups or as built surveying on completed site. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you embark on a journey to create innovative solutions for community engineering projects.  

Your day-to-day activities may include: 

• Conduct land surveys 

• Supervise crew of survey technicians 

• Perform survey computations 

• Adjust survey instruments 

• Read and interpret property descriptions, right-of-way maps, and other engineering related blueprints 

• Generate survey drawings using computer software and plotters

Some basic qualifications for success include: 

• 2 years of Crew Chief experience in boundary surveying and construction staking 

• Ability to work on-site 

• Survey CAD skills preferred 

• Ability to upload and download data through TBC and AutoCAD preferred 

• Communication skills and ability to work through challenges as they arise 

• Ability to occasionally work in the office 

• Ability to work in difficult weather conditions 

• Ability to work multiple days out of town when needed 

• Lift up to 50 lbs. and use hand tools
