This Opportunity

Sunrise Engineering is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Controller to support our growing organization. This Full Time position is based in our West Jordan, Utah office during our business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Commensurate salary will be dependent on experience.

A Day in the Life of an Assistant Controller

As an Assistant Controller at Sunrise Engineering, each day unfolds with a sense of purpose and excitement. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you embark on a journey to assist in managing the firms financial and accounting functions.

Your Day-to-day Activities May Include

• Including: Budgeting, forecasting, cash management, preparation of financial statements, job cost accounting, and contract administration
• Finance/Accounting
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Monitor the firms overhead expenditure on a monthly basis
• Maintain relationships and communications with the company CPAs, clients, vendors, and bankers
• Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Contract/Asset Manager
• Project Accounting
• Review and maintain project financial files and Owner-Architect Agreements
• Prepare customer billings
• Set up and manage project accounting formats
• Develop and implement process improvements
• Assist Project Managers is preparation of fee proposals
• Assist Project Managers in billing reviews
• Assist in project performance analysis and project planning analysis
• Monitor financial job files for completeness
• Other duties as assigned

Some Basic Qualifications For Success Include

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• 5 years of business accounting experience
• 3 years as an Assistant Controller or Senior Accountant
• Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principals (GAAP)
• Proficient in Excel
• Ability to work in the office and occasionally travel
