Responsibilities:
- Job Skills Development: Utilize your expertise in landscaping to train and develop individuals with disabilities, teaching them the necessary skills to excel in a landscape job. This includes instruction in mowing, trimming, weed eating, edging, and other landscaping tasks.
- Professionalism: Always maintain high professionalism to set a positive example for the crew. Demonstrate appropriate work behaviors, such as punctuality, reliability, and adherence to safety protocols. Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, inclusivity, and accountability within the crew.
- Account Management: Oversee and manage landscape maintenance accounts to ensure they meet our high standards and contractual obligations. This involves scheduling and coordinating work, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and providing exceptional customer service to clients.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, clients, and supervisors to relay instructions, address concerns, and provide progress updates. Foster open and transparent communication to promote collaboration and productivity within the crew.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and protocols. Conduct regular safety training sessions, perform equipment inspections, and promptly address potential hazards.
- Procure and manage materials, supplies, and equipment within the approval limit or with authorization from a supervisor.
- Schedule equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide needed updates and maintain positive relationships
- Address client concerns and requests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscaping and maintenance work is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capacity to guide and motivate a diverse team of individuals.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and communicate with individuals with disabilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support and empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
- A commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and maintaining a positive work attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
- Ability and desire to relate to persons with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Oregon driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass criminal history check & drug screen, including marijuana
- Must obtain a First Aid/CPR Certificate; we provide training
