The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing a variety of clerical tasks related to financial record-keeping and reporting. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and contributes to the overall financial integrity of the credit union.
Jobs Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare, pay, and file all accounts payable invoices for the credit union and research and resolve any invoice/vendor issues.
- Basic knowledge of daily balancing processes.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist Card Services with providing provisional credit to our members who file fraud or dispute cases.
- Proficiency in electronic banking services which include ACH, Share Drafts, Wires, reclamations, etc.
- Verify and enter transactions into the accounting system with attention to detail
- Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Assist with answering phone calls coming into the department whether it be a member or another department.
- Assist with performing internal audits when needed.
- Continue to improve skills and knowledge by attending various credit union webinars, courses, etc.
- Support the accounting team with various administrative tasks as needed.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred but not required.
Job Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, etc.
- Ability to act in a discrete manner when dealing with sensitive information.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize various tasks.
- Exhibit problem solving skills.
- Capability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Properly communicate via phone, email, in person, etc.
