Maintenance Manager

Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager ensures that Maintenance standards and its implementation process meet the established food quality and safety standards, ensuring that Maintenance guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility & making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, adhering to safety, food safety, and legislative guidelines. Working closely with Plant Production, the Maintenance Manager will monitor the supervision of the crew to provide quick response to management requests related to the general performance and upkeep of the production machines and equipment. 

• Manage all maintenance procedures and crew activities to produce results that meet or exceed accepted quality, efficiency, and safety standards, including maintaining CFIA ratings by meeting or exceeding CFIA regulations requirements for equipment and plant maintenance, while maintaining safety
• Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the weekly indicator reports and period objectives.
• Ensure the completion of the maintenance plan by overseeing and advising on the establishment of priorities, the revision of schedules and the resolution of problems.
• Assist in planning the annual plant-wide operating Capital budgets.
• Develop, direct, manage, train, and motivate Supervisors and employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in conjunction with the Human Resource department.
• Liaise with other departments on maintenance concerns and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization.
• Conduct monthly meetings with maintenance crew and report back to Plant Manager.
• Provides input into matters on changes in food safety procedures, product quality, and Quality Assurance related matters.
• Participate in JHSC initiatives and follow established policies as outlined in the Health and Safety policies.
• Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all Quality Systems.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and Managers.
• Strong verbal and written as well as effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
• Ability to accurately maintain detailed records.
• Strong safety focus.
• High Proficiency in MS Office.
• Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• I have 3 years related and/or Management experience.
• Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possession of Diploma or post-secondary education with Technical Certificate preferred.
• Intermediate Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, charting, and graphing).
• Experience in meat processing as an asset
• Be success-driven and have a “can do” attitude.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability to take up additional duties and cross-train.
• Ability to assess and prioritize.
• Occasional overtime and ability to work various shifts may be required.

Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
