Position Summary:
Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center is hiring PRN staff to support our mission of serving individuals experiencing homelessness. We have two distinct PRN opportunities available:
PRN – Mobile Outreach Team
- Work in pairs to engage with individuals living in encampments, underpasses, and other outdoor locations.
- Provide direct outreach, basic needs assistance, and service connections.
- Requires adaptability, safety awareness, and strong interpersonal skills
PRN– Shelter Case Manager (Monday-Friday)
- Provide case management services to shelter guests, including service coordination, crisis intervention, and housing navigation.
- Work in a fast-paced environment supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Ideal for candidates with experience in social work, case management, or related fields.

This position is responsible for inputting accurate and timely data into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and serving clients with compassion and efficiency while ensuring all interactions are documented and that data integrity is maintained. This flexible role involves working across multiple teams including the Sunrise Hub day center, Sunrise Mobile and Shelter outreach teams, and Sunrise Hotline call center. You will conduct Coordinated Housing Assessments and referrals, connecting clients with the services they need to move towards stable housing.
Position Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in social work or a related human services field preferred
- Experience working in HMIS and/or homeless services preferred
- Experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Availability to work shifts Monday through Friday, 8:30a-1:30p, 9:00a-3:00p, 12:00p-6:00p or 11:00-7:00p.
Position Responsibilities:
- Welcome and engage with individuals seeking services at all locations
- Provide compassionate assistance and support to clients
- Conduct screening in Homeless Management Information System and identify client needs
- Assist with crisis intervention and make appropriate referrals
- Navigate the complex web of homeless services in Austin to best serve clients
- Complete Coordinated Housing Assessments once licensed.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals and volunteers

Work Environment:
- Location will co-working, outdoor, shelter, remote, and office environment
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
- Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
- Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
- May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day
