Job Summary and Qualifications

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), under the general supervision of the physical therapist, is responsible for the treatment of a wide variety of patients, including, but not limited to patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute, sub-acute, rehabilitation and outpatient physical therapy. • The PTA carries out physical therapy care programs planned by and with the supervision of the Physical Therapist while maintaining confidentiality of all patient care information to assure patients’ rights are protected
• The PTA must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and interpret data reflective of the patients’ medical status and age specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department’s policies and procedures
• The PTA will provide goal directed treatment programs, as well related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an approved physical therapy assistant program
• One to two years’ experience in hospital setting preferred. Entry-level graduates will be considered
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA)
