We have an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance & Accounting team in our Tampa, FL office. This role is positioned to have a big impact in our growing business both organically and through acquisitions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly organized payroll professional. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining up-to-date employee records, and efficiently managing incoming payroll requests. The candidate will have strong payroll skills and excellent communication and partnership abilities.
The role will be based in Tampa, FL in the corporate office by the Westshore Area.
Responsibilities
- Perform full cycle payroll processing, including processing timecards, and ensuring timely payroll disbursements.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the payroll system, including auditing new hires, processing terminations, changes in pay rates, W4/tax changes, direct deposit adjustments and deductions.
- Support 1000 employee organization with PTO requests, loan requests, timesheet corrections, research of missing hours, employment verification, workers compensation and child support verifications.
- Assist with Payroll Inbox Management; Review and respond to all correspondence that arrives in the payroll inbox daily.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to payroll.
- Participate in continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates' degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing role at an organization with 500 employees.
- Above average proficiency in payroll software systems a must.
- Roll up your sleeves, entrepreneurial approach in a fast-paced environment required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software applications.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP and Aspire Landscape CRM software a plus.
Compensation
The compensation for this role will start at $60,000 will commensurate with experience. There is also an annual bonus, vacation sick time, full medical, dental and vision benefits as well as a 401k plan (after 6 months) with employer contribution. We also offer additional employee wellness and paid leave programs.
