What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Supervisor WEEKENDS ONLY Day Shift Assisted Living position at Sunrise Senior Living?
The Night Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the health and wellbeing of our residents, providing leadership support and assistance with hands-on resident care and services. Key responsibilities include promoting overall resident wellbeing, assisting in training and monitoring of medication administration, communicating with resident support services and families, ensuring quality care and services are provided and documented consistently, and maintaining clinical quality while leading and demonstrating the Sunrise Senior Living mission.
Coordination of Health Needs
The Night Supervisor identifies ongoing care and service needs of residents to promote high-quality resident care outcomes. They ensure proper evaluation, follow-through, and documentation for residents with changes in condition or healthcare requirements. The supervisor evaluates, monitors, and follows up with residents who experience falls, accidents, or incidents, documenting and reporting as required.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
The Night Supervisor strives for excellent quality care and service delivery, demonstrating knowledge of key quality improvement areas, including the Resident-Centered Care Model, applicable Quality Indicators, and regulatory compliance. They actively participate in Sunrise Quality Assurance & Clinical Meetings, assist in preparing for regulatory surveys, and review Physician Reports of new residents.
Resident Care
The Night Supervisor responds to guest/resident requests in a timely and professional manner, maintains confidentiality of all resident information, and reviews updates, and documents changes in residents' physical and/or behavioral conditions. They provide supervisory support by managing staffing on assigned shifts, taking attendance, managing call-offs/no shows, and working to fill open shifts as needed.
Risk Management and Safety
The Night Supervisor partners with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, Risk Management programs, and safety rules and regulations. They practice safety procedures at all times, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and Data Safety Sheets when needed.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved college/school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year experience in home health, assisted living, hospital, or long-term care environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to the health and wellness of the elderly population.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to teach and guide team members.
