About Us:
Sunrise Service Dogs (est. 2020) is a non-profit dedicated to training service dogs for individuals with disabilities. We foster a collaborative environment that values a wide range of training experiences and methodologies.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement training programs for service dogs, clients, and volunteers
- Lead individual and group training sessions both on-site and in public
- Conduct assessments and documentation of dog/handler team progress
- Participate in dog/client matching and placement
- Support volunteer recruitment, training, and mentorship
- Maintain professional relationships across diverse training approaches
- Assist with facility operations as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years professional dog training experience
- 1 year professional service/assistance dog training experience (verified)
- Experience working with people across various disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 and Google Workspace
- Physical ability to lift 60-80 lbs and work in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications (ADI, APDT, CAAB, CPDT, GDMI, IAABC, PCB-A, PCT-A)
- Post-secondary degree in related field
- Experience with multiple training methodologies
- Experience with training puppies and their raisers
Work Environment:
Position operates in kennel facility, public areas, and office environment. Requires professional interaction with various dog breeds and ability to maintain collaborative relationships in a team environment.
