Gain valuable experience within the mental health field! Sunrise Services, Inc. offers mental health internships for aspiring counselors and mental health professionals. Interns will get hands on experience working within our mental health clinics under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional. Interns should be pursuing a Master’s degree in an applicable field at an accredited college or university, and possess junior or senior status.
- This is an unpaid internship
- Our sites include offices in Everett, Mountlake Terrace, Mount Vernon, and Coupeville.
- Openings at all locations are subject to supervisor availability.
General Responsibilities: Assist and observe ongoing coordination and collaboration of case management services, therapy, treatment planning, resource identification and development, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collateral supports in and outside the organization, and treatment services as appropriate under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Assists in monitoring illness management and resource needs of assigned clients.
· Assists and advocates for the client needs including housing, financial, psychiatric, and others
· Delivers services as stated.
· Completes all required documentation in a timely manner
· Attend all training required by Sunrise.
· Develop expertise in solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy and group process
· Communicate with consumers and family members
· Assist in developing consumer-focused, goal-oriented treatment plans
· Assist in evaluating treatment effectiveness and revise care plans regularly.
· Prompt response to client needs.
· Support and encourage recovery model.
· Utilize clinical supervision for clarification of questions and concerns
· In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position
Essential Requirements: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)
· Education: Pursuing a Master’s degree at an accredited college or university
· Experience: Possess junior or senior status
· Licensure/Certification: Ability to obtain an Agency Affiliated Counselor License from the DOH
· Other Considerations:
o DSHS background clearance required.
o Current valid Washington State driver’s license.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
