As an Advanced Direct Support Professional you would be responsible for supporting a person living in and engaging with the community. About the Program :
The Supported Living Program (SL) provides community living services for adults with a wide range of disabilities and mental health challenges. The SL program promotes self-determination, independence, and competence for clients.
Direct Support Professionals work with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting, assisting clients with activities ranging from personal grooming and meal preparation to shopping, housekeeping and recreational outings.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Support participants to :
Shop, bank, eat, work, worship and make friends within the community.
Provide transportation for the client.Meet with others and participate in activities with other members of the community.Foster positive self-esteem and a sense of self-worth.Foster opportunities to choose valued social roles.Support opportunities to influence perceptions of the person's value by self and others.Assist clients with personal care or home management tasksPerform home management tasks such as laundry, shopping, and light housekeepingAssist with making and preparing mealsPeri-care as neededMaintain positive and courteous relationships with clientsAccompany clients to events or on community outingsMedication administration as mandated and trainedAssist with personal grooming as neededUse an iPad and a program to track medications and behaviorsAssist with other tasks as neededVaccination or wearing a face mask may be required.Requirements : (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)
Education : High school diploma or GEDOther Considerations :Must be able to pass a DSHS background check
Fingerprinting requiredMust attend mandatory training classesMust have a valid driver's license, a clean 1 year driving abstract, and proof of insurance ($50,000)Must work one mandatory weekend shiftObtain NAR and complete Nurse Delegation training within 30 days of completing mandatory training. Ability to be delegated by a Registered Nurse is required before working with clients who need nurse delegated medications.Use a smartphone to clock in and out withUse an iPad to log medication and client behaviorsShifts :
Full & part-time availableMorning, overnights, & weekends availableUrgently hiring part time, Friday and Saturday shifts.Compensation :
19.00 - $21.00 / hour2-$5 differential pay for qualifying clients.Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications / licensure.Benefits :
