Senior Cloud Software Engineer
Develops, codes / configures, and tests programs and systems, typically within the parameters of one sprint. Collaborates with others on the team in the planning, design, and development of systems. Applies technical knowledge under guidance, supervision, and well- defined work direction.
We are looking for an experienced senior Cloud Engineer who can design, develop and deploy cloud services to deliver digital experiences that serve athletes and consumers.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in JavaScript and NodeJS, along with deep understanding of AWS infrastructure, services and configuration. You should be able to own a functional area and complete features to specification, on schedule and with high quality, while collaborating with front-end and platform engineering teams.

You will be a part of the Global Technology organization working closely with client Membership and Commerce teams. Required :
Remote, PST hours 8am-5pm
NodeJS / Javascript, AWS, and REST-APIs are the top 3 skills for this role. Within javascript, candidate needs full stack or backend experience, an engineer with only front end experience will likely not be a good fit for this role. This is a pure backend Software Engineering position.
Within AWS, this team works with serverless services like Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Event Bridge, SNS , Cloudwatch and more.
Looking for someone that is open to learning and collaborating, open to giving and receiving feedback. This team works collaboratively in pairs on a day to day basis, so someone who is comfortable working in a team environment rather than solo is a must have.
This is a highly time sensitive project and candidate is expected to jump right in and start contributing.
Responsibilities :
Develop high quality APIs to enable consumer-grade, responsive web and app experiences.
Design, implement and integrate web / app and cloud services which can run reliably at scale.
Collaborate with technologists and product managers to help define and get technical clarification on features.
Utilize standards and methodologies to code for quality and maintainability.
Work in a fast-paced agile environment
Work in true DevOps fashion owning the entire tech stack
Solve big engineering challenges to serve our worldwide athletes
at scale
Grow and keep our APIs fast, efficient, available
Collaborate with other amazing engineers to power the most exciting digital experiences for athletes on the market
Assist with Sprint planning and organization.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or relevant software experience.
Minimum of 4 years of total experience
3 years of developing Restful APIs
3 years of developing in Node.js
3 years of developing in AWS .
Strong programming expertise in JavaScript and Node.js
Experience developing and deploying NodeJS services in production at scale.
Proven ability to produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
Experience solving difficult engineering challenges using tools from the AWS tech stack including, but not limited to Lambda, API Gateway, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, EC2, VPC etc.
Understanding of monitoring, tracing and observability tools, techniques and best practices.
Familiarity with Git, CI / CD, Docker and DevOps.
Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and / or Agile principles and practice.
Excellent communication skills in working with globally distributed teams.
