Job Description
Title: Fiber Specialist
Immediate Supervisor: Fiber Manager, Operations Manager, VP, Owner
Position: Exempt Non-Exempt
General Job Summary:
Manage fiber schematic data.
Responsibilities
- Convert schematics from customer in to splice packet for fiber splicers
- Monitor data submitted by fiber splicers for accuracy. Utilize data to compile splice matrix for customer as final splicing as-built.
- Communicate with local coordinators throughout project builds
- Work with mapping department to update map as-builts with changes against the initial splicing design.
Qualifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (MVR, Drug screen, and Background checks).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Telecom fiber splicing OSP specs and build process
- 2 years minimum of fiber optic specific matrix and map tracking. Able to track and turn over completed light doc’s
