Days of Work and Schedule
The camp will operate from June 17th to August 2nd. Overnight hours during weekdays, Monday at 7 AM to Friday at 4 PM (except for the weekend of [July 6-7th] between Week 3 [July 1st-5th] and Week 4 [July 8th-12st).
Purpose
To provide medical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
•Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
•Must possess a valid Driver's License which meets company standards for approved driver status
•Must possess basic computer skills
•Must possess current and valid license for Practical Nurse
•Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
Essential Functions
•Assists in providing basic healthcare services according to the individual’s plan ensuring each individual’s optimal health and wellbeing
•Follows all nursing protocols as outlined in Sunrise nursing manual and Connecticut nursing protocols.
•Performs tasks as delegated, such as blood pressure monitoring, weights, and other assigned tasks
•Ensures all documentation is accurate and complete according to regulations
•Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of supplies and equipment, ensuring restocking of inventory
•Collaborates with Camp Counselors to ensure that the needs of the individuals are being met
•Communicates immediately any changes in medical or behavioral status to supervisor
•Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.
