The Dealership Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational activities of the dealership. This includes managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing business processes, and driving overall profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of dealership operations.
Essential Functions:
Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Manage dealership accounts, including accounts receivable and payable.
Monitor and control dealership expenses to maximize profitability.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management review.
Ensure smooth daily operations of the dealership, including sales, service, and parts departments.
Implement and monitor dealership policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Optimize business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
Oversee internal controls and conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Manage insurance and warranty claims as needed.
Enhance customer satisfaction by implementing and monitoring customer service standards.
Address and resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional manner.
Develop and implement strategies to improve customer retention and loyalty.
Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies and promotions.
Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
Work with marketing teams to plan and execute marketing campaigns and dealership events.
Supervise and support dealership staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Foster a positive work environment and encourage team development.
Conduct regular staff meetings and provide feedback to improve performance.
Oversee inventory levels of vehicles, parts, and accessories.
Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely and cost-effective inventory procurement.
Manage vehicle ordering, stocking, and pricing strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and trains department staff.
Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of shop employees.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of diverse accounting experience in two or more of the following areas: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contracts, or general accounting.
5 years of experience working for an automotive dealership.
Occasionally perform outside of regular work hours.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Strong financial and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Knowledge of dealership operations and industry trends.
Ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and comprehensible way.
CDK experience.
Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
