Service Technician II
Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
A Service Technician II is a highly skilled professional responsible for performing complex vehicle repairs and maintenance. A Service Technician III plays a critical role in troubleshooting advanced technical issues, managing resources, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Liaise with dispatcher to receive repair orders; perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership and/or factory standards, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
Identify mechanical problems using visual inspections or computer diagnostic equipment, conduct tests on parts and systems to ensure proper functionality, and examine all critical components.
Use diagnostic tools and software to determine the root cause of problems.
Report findings and suggest recommended repairs to the Service Advisor.
Perform a wide range of repairs, including engine transmission, electrical steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning, including conducting routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to the highest standards.
Test drive vehicles after completing repairs or routine maintenance to ensure that the issue has been resolved.
Drive vehicles around the shop or service area to either position them for further work or to free up space for incoming vehicles.
Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers about vehicle issues, repair timelines, and explanations of repairs and maintenance performed.
Document all work performed, including parts used and labor hours; maintain accurate records of repairs and services.
Follow all federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive service and repair, including Cal/OSHA.
Work closely with other technicians, parts associates, and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures—; including wearing protective gear and equipment as required.
Maintain a clean workspace.
Maintain satisfactory attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years of hands-on experience working as an automotive technician.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 10 days following date of hire.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical automotive certifications or Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications or equivalent technical training.
Experience in dealership setting.
Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and software.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Physical Demands:
Physical ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions (e.g., bending, kneeling) for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle tools and small parts.
Ability to frequently lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in tight spaces.
Frequently bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Environment/Noise:
Work in well-ventilated and well-lit repair shop.
Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor injuries.
Frequent use of protective gear such as goggles and earplugs.
Work both indoors and outdoors, something in cramped spaces and awkward positions.
Regular exposure to contaminants such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers.
Work in close proximity to other technicians and mechanics.
Noise level is moderate

We also offer online as well as hands on-factory- training, pay for all training including ASE test pass or fail, yearly scholarship programs, and lunches are provided on Saturdays.
Pay Ranges from: $80k - $130k a year based on certification level.
