Things You’ll Do
- Sample, measure, test, and report on concrete and aggregates at the lab, jobsites, and batch plants.
- Work outdoors in extreme temperatures, occasionally at heights, and possibly during night/weekend shifts.
- Collaborate with Plant Operations to monitor aggregate moistures, concrete properties, and plant consistency.
- Support Sales in resolving quality concerns and educating customers on concrete placement and finishing.
- Input and report data on the QC lab database (LIMS).
- Report issues to the QC manager promptly and adhere to safety procedures.
- Assist the QC manager with in-house training and customer education classes.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public.
- Work in a team environment and assist with other duties as required.
- Maintain an insurable driving record.
- Service, repair, and calibrate lab and field-testing equipment.
Requirements
- Certifications: ACI Field Grade 1 required (or ability to pass within 6 months). Preferred: ACI Strength Testing Technician, WAQTC Concrete, WAQTC Aggregate.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ACI 318, ASTM C94, ISPWC, ITD, and ASTM C33.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; working knowledge of Stonemont QC, Stonemont Mobile, Command Series, Command Batch, BCMI Material Pro, Adobe Acrobat.
- Preferred Experience: Idaho CDL with Transit-Mixer experience.
- Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting up to 94 lbs. Frequent reaching, grabbing, pulling, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
- Education and/or Experience: Minimum high school diploma or GED; technical education preferred.
