Basic Function :
The Window Film Technician’s (WFT) primary duty is to install and / or remove all types of window film. The WFT is familiar with the process of cutting and installing solar control, safety / security and decorative films. WFT’s can work in a variety of settings such as residential, occupied and unoccupied commercial, and new construction. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed, including but not limited to repairs, warehouse inventory, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities & Duties :
- Install window film or other products as indicated according to company, IWFA and manufacturer standards
Prepare for and load truck for jobs the night before
Check film out and in each day on computer by jobCall your customer to let them know you are enrouteArrive at job site at least 5-10 minutes earlyIf running late to appointment, call the customer at least 30 minutes ahead
Thoroughly read file notes for special instructions; walk customer through the order and verify that everything is correct prior to beginning install (Daily Quality Procedures)Plan film cuts so as to waste as little film as possibleTake utmost pride in providing the cleanest, most efficient installation possibleExplain film care instructions and obtain signature on all required formsCall the office with any questions; and when leaving one job and going to the nextComplete paperwork for customers; acquire necessary signatures; collect payment; submit to office promptly each dayALWAYS portray company in a positive manor to customer and co-workersMaintain professional and polite communication and relationship with the customerMaintain accurate daily inventory of film and suppliesParticipate in company formal inventory processesMaintain the company van supplies, cleanliness, and maintenance.Clean out vehicle at end of each day
Monthly vehicle maintenanceWash and vacuum vehicle the 1st of each month;
Oil changes every 5,000 miles; rotating tires every 5,000 miles; notify office immediately of any noise, or possible vehicle issueMaintain a clean and efficient shop and warehouse areaRecycle when possible and place in recycle dumpster behind office (endcaps, boxes, film cores, paper, plastic and glass.During slow periods when requested : distributing flyers, office maintenance, sales estimates, or other duties as assignedMonitor and communicate with office on product, department supplies, and office supplies needed; need one-week advanced notice to be sure products are deliveredComplete pay sheets daily and send to Operations ManagerDocument any personnel incidents and discuss with HRAssist with Special Projects as requiredMinimum Requirements :
Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and customer service skills requiredAbility to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.This position requires the ability to lift 70-150 pounds, and be able to bend, stretch, and climb ladders without back restrictions.Valid U.S. driver’s licenseClean driving recordNo criminal recordWillingness to train inexperienced employees4 years or more in flat glass window film installationThe marginal functions of this position have not been included.
