Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Human Resources/Employee Relations Manager to join our team!
The Human Resources Manager - Employee Relations plays a critical role in fostering a positive and productive work environment by managing employee relations initiatives, conducting investigations, partners with department leaders to implement effective employee relations strategies, handle conflict resolution, and guide disciplinary actions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and best practices while proactively addressing team member concerns to enhance engagement and retention.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures.
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Advise managers and supervisors regarding appropriate resolutions of team member relations issues, including disciplinary documentation, employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints or other team member concerns.
- Conduct thorough, objective investigations into employee complaints, workplace conflicts, harassment allegations, and violations of company policies.
- Support management in the termination process by guiding leaders on proper termination procedure and ensuring termination checklists are completed in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations in cases of harassment, team member concerns and EEOC issues.
- Maintain strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws, particularly regarding hiring practices, workplace discrimination, employee discipline, and termination procedures to mitigate legal risks.
- Manage HR administrative functions related to employee relations, ensuring accurate documentation of investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy violations.
- Analyze employee relations data to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and update company policies related to team member relations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee the administration, distribution, and review of annual performance reviews for team members.
- Administer and process exit interviews, record feedback/dialog, and report patterns to management.
- Administer and oversee the handling of unemployment compensation claims.
- Support resort-wide training programs for the property; including but not limited to, new hire orientation, customer service, safety training, anti-harassment training and supervisory/management development training
- Support all HR-related systems, including UKG, Pipeline, and Sunseeker University, ensuring efficient employee support and issue resolution.
- Works closely with resort management and team members to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment when evaluating new programs, new services and new ideas
- Continue to learn and be on the forefront of new technology for the hotel industry
- Create ways to further enrich the guest experience by continuously reviewing, implementing and refining procedures to ensure every opportunity to offer extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a culture of smiles, retention of luxury standards
- Develop collaborative relationships and synergy with all support departments such as Convention Sales & Services, Facilities, Security, Front Services, Front Office, F&B, Golf Course and Executive Offices.
- Foster a management team that possesses and delivers on key strategies of guest service, employee relations, team cooperation, financial responsibility and asset management
- Perform other functions as needed
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in human resources with a strong focus on employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws, particularly in areas such as employee termination, discrimination, and workplace compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence and coach leadership.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling sensitive employee matters.
- Proficiency in HR systems such as UKG and other HRIS platforms.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- SHRM-CP and/or PHR preferred
