Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Food & Beverage Manager of Pool Operations!
The Food & Beverage Manager - Reflections Pool is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the resort pools Food & Beverage program including, but limited to, training staff, managing vendors, ensuring all health/safety procedures are met and contributing to the department’s overall success by making sure the beverage program is functioning efficiently and inviting for customers to relax in.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Duties
- Responsible for inventory, ordering of beverage items – liquor, beer, wine, and beverage/barware items for pool locations
- Meets bar financial objectives by watching labor and overhead costs, collecting revenues; controlling alcoholic beverage portions
- Responsible for implementing and holding strict standards for safety and sanitation as well as overall bar organization and storage
- Keeps accurate inventory of bar supplies, product, and keep up with par levels/stocking
- Responsible for implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Keeps bar equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
- Maintains safe, secure, legal, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation and quality of drink preparation and service standards and procedures; monitoring customers alcohol consumption.
- Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Maintains bar atmosphere by arranging bottles and glasses displays; encouraging comradery; arranging entertainment; controlling lighting, background music, and video displays.
- Must acquire strong knowledge of our POS system and act as the point of contact for any technical support and/or maintenance necessary
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Manages controllable costs to goal and is responsible for the overall bar and beverage P&L results
- Keep a clear line of communication within the team including Managers, Chefs, and Director
- Maintains floor presence the majority of the shifts, including table/seat touching in both pool locations
- Creates team member schedules, ensuring fairness and complete coverage and proper labor budget
- Mix drinks, pour, and serve wine, beer, and other beverages as needed to assist staff as necessary
- Handle paperwork and other administrative duties
- Holds daily pre-shift meetings and keeps staff informed (per shift) and handle complaints, conflicts, questions, and suggestions from team members
- Create ways to further enrich the guest experience by continuously reviewing, implementing and refining procedures to ensure every opportunity to offer extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a culture of smiles, retention of luxury standards
- Proactively seek guest feedback and liaise with other departments when opportunities present themselves ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience
- Manage guest requests and own all complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest’s satisfaction
- Develop collaborative relationships and synergy with other departments such as Restaurant Operations, Convention Sales & Services, Catering, Special Events, Facilities, Security, Front Services, Front Office, F&B, Golf Course and Executive Offices
- Foster a management team that possesses and delivers on key strategies of guest service, team member relations, team cooperation, financial responsibility and asset management
- Ensure all accounting matters are handled in compliance with company policy
- Perform other functions as needed
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality management or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a management position in a Full Service, High-Volume Restaurant/Bar/Pool atmosphere
- SERV Safe certification and or relative related training associated with Food Safety, and HAACP systems
- Previous Mixology and Beverage program experience
- Experience in food safety audits/sanitation standards in restaurants or retail foodservice operations
