Sunset Eats is a multi-concept brand / food hall that celebrates culinary diversity, innovation, and excellence. Our vibrant and fast-paced environment brings together unique food concepts under one roof, offering a memorable experience for our guests. We're looking for a passionate and skilled Assistant Kitchen Manager / Line Cook to join our team and help us maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and teamwork. The current brands are Mama Musubi (a Japanese onigiri / boba cafe, Pokeworks (a Hawaiian inspired poke bowl, salad and burrito brand) and cafe with coffee / tea, sandwiches and salads.

Job Summary

As an Assistant Kitchen Manager / Line Cook, you will play a dual role in both supporting kitchen operations and working hands-on to execute dishes across our concepts. You will assist the Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day kitchen activities, ensuring consistency, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Kitchen Manager Duties :

Support the Operations Manager in coordinating kitchen operations across multiple food concepts.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes and standards.
Assist in inventory management, including inventory, ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and contribute to maximizing kitchen efficiency.
Collaborate with the management team to implement new menu items and seasonal specials.
Help execute multiple station / concepts with diverse menu options.

Line Cook Duties :

Prepare and cook menu items to order with precision and speed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation during service.

Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency.

Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth service flow.

Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations.

Qualifications

2 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced environment (multi-concept or food hall experience is a plus).

Experience in kitchen leadership or supervisory roles preferred.

Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
