Job purpose
Responsible for loading/unloading trucks and customer order fulfillment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Utilize load sheets to pull product for customer’s orders. Annotate correct lot numbers and quantities on load sheet.
- Verify product is in good condition prior to shipment. Report SELL BY dates within 30 days of expiration.
- Neatly stack product on pallets, label with customer name and shrink-wrap for shipment.
- Utilize fork lift and stand-up lift to load trucks and store product.
- Complete Daily Production Receiving Inventory Sheet.
- Perform Physical Inventory Count and turn in to office.
- Unload ingredient trucks, verify meat temperature and inspect for damage.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience: Previous experience using an electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
- Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret procedure sheets, product labels, training and safety material provided by company.
- Personal Characteristics: Identifies with the values, philosophy and mission of Sunset Farm Foods.
Working conditions
- Work in a cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC) while on concrete floors.
- Will be exposed to moderate noise levels.
Physical requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, balance and/or reach with arms.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Move pallets ranging from 600 – 2500 lbs. during shift.
