Shipping/Warehouse Clerk

Job purpose

Responsible for loading/unloading trucks and customer order fulfillment.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Utilize load sheets to pull product for customer’s orders. Annotate correct lot numbers and quantities on load sheet.
• Verify product is in good condition prior to shipment. Report SELL BY dates within 30 days of expiration.
• Neatly stack product on pallets, label with customer name and shrink-wrap for shipment.
• Utilize fork lift and stand-up lift to load trucks and store product.
• Complete Daily Production Receiving Inventory Sheet.
• Perform Physical Inventory Count and turn in to office.
• Unload ingredient trucks, verify meat temperature and inspect for damage.
• Perform all work in compliance with company policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications 

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Experience: Previous experience using an electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret procedure sheets, product labels, training and safety material provided by company.
• Personal Characteristics: Identifies with the values, philosophy and mission of Sunset Farm Foods.

Working conditions 

• Work in a cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC) while on concrete floors.
• Will be exposed to moderate noise levels.

 Physical requirements 

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, balance and/or reach with arms. 
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. 
• Move pallets ranging from 600 – 2500 lbs. during shift.
