The candidate for this position must have several years of experience in the events industry, with a goal of growing with a team and managing a large event center. This position would begin as a venue closer, with a pathway and opportunity to grow and take on other roles. Training will be conducted on the job. A candidate who shows great proficiency with with knowledge retention, initiative, and drive will have the opportunity to be a important and integral component of the existing team, and have an opportunity to engage as a planner/coordinator/production manager. An interest in this facet of the profession could also lead to a more dedicated role in this space. A strong photography background, and/or social media/marketing would be a great additional skill set.

Terms

o Permanent, full time

Salary Range

o $12-$19.44/hr

Requirements

o 4 days on, 4 days off, 09:00-20:00, or 14:00-01:00paid 30 minute lunch

o Must cover opposite shifts due to PTO or vacancies

o Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled, unless PTO is granted per policy

⁄ About Sunset Farm Operations

o We are an agriculturally focused entity firmly anchored in the equestrian industry. Our publicly visible facet, includes an event center which hosts more than 120 events per year, including weddings, corporate, and other activities. Our goal is to give guests an opportunity to experience a high level of service and enjoyment, in a rural equestrian focused environment, which will leave an imprint they will not soon forget.

⁄ About the role

o The Event Closer will report to the supervisor on duty, and will be responsible for ensuring the venue is clean, well stocked, safe, and prepared for guests, and functioning well during events, and reset for the next event. In addition pre-event responsibilities, including scheduling, client, and vendor meetings, and communication, and administrative duties such as invoicing, payment processing, and using third party software to enhance, and streamline our operations. Similar administrative functions will be performed for two other divisions of the company when time allows.

⁄ Responsibilities

o Cleaning

o Stocking supplies

o Set up tear down of event space

o Functioning as a day of event vendor liaison

o Ensuring the safety of all guests and vendors

o Executing on venue responsibilities for the day of the event

o Conducting pre-event meetings and communication to ensure clients and vendors take a coordinated and informed approach to their event

o Scheduling

o Invoicing

o Payment processing

o Vendor agreement contract processing

o Overall vendor and client communications

o Ancillary duties include other administrative functions, including social media, website, and digitally focused tasks and functions. These functions include management/modification of systems used for self scheduling, budgeting, communications, and marketing.

⁄ Requirements

o High School Diploma, College degree preferred

o 2 years events services experience

o Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs

o Clear and concise communication

o Ability to closely adhere to policies and procedures

o Self starter

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.50 per hour
