We are looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our home health and hospice services , ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality patient care.
Job Summary
The Home Health & Hospice Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and efficiency of our home health and hospice divisions. This role ensures regulatory compliance, improves operational workflows, manages staff performance, and enhances patient care services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of home health and hospice regulations, and experience in healthcare operations .
Key Responsibilities Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of home health and hospice services to ensure smooth and compliant functioning.
- Implement policies and procedures that align with state, federal, and accreditation standards (CMS, Joint Commission, ACHC, CHAP).
- Ensure timely and accurate patient admissions, discharges, and transitions between care services.
- Work closely with the Clinical Director, Case Managers, and field staff to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Monitor and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements.Lead audits and surveys from regulatory bodies (CDPH, CMS, Joint Commission, ACHC, CHAP).Implement quality improvement programs to enhance patient care outcomes and satisfaction.Ensure electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation are completed accurately and timely.Team Leadership & Staff Management
Supervise and support clinical and administrative staff , ensuring effective coordination and communication.Conduct performance evaluations, training, and mentoring to improve team efficiency.Partner with HR to handle recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top healthcare professionals.Address staff concerns, conflicts, and performance issues proactively.Financial & Business Development
Assist in managing budgets, cost control, and financial reporting for the home health and hospice divisions.Identify growth opportunities , including partnerships with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and physician groups .Work with the marketing team to enhance referral relationships and community engagement.Patient & Family Experience
Ensure patients and families receive high-quality, compassionate, and culturally competent care.Address and resolve patient or family concerns to maintain excellent service standards.Develop programs to improve patient engagement, satisfaction, and continuity of care .Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing (BSN preferred), business administration, or a related field.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in home health, hospice, or healthcare operations management .Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), state / federal regulations, and accreditation standards .Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, such as Kinnser, WellSky, or Homecare Homebase.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.Bilingual (Spanish or Armenian preferred but not required).
