Sunset Senior Living in Quincy, IL is looking for a Restorative CNA to join our team!
Hours : Full-Time Day Shift with rotating schedule, 1 week Mon-Fri next week Tues-Sat
Shift Time : 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm
Starting Pay : $17.25 - $19.50 based on experience
PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in planning, organizing, and performing restorative services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
As a Restorative Aide, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS
- Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating resident care plans.
- Assist in interpreting physical and restorative rehab policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.
- Maintain progress notes as required.
- Assist in standardizing the methods in which therapy will be accomplished.
- Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.
- Other duties that may become necessary, or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and / or the Administrator.
- PERSONNEL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other health-related facilities and organizations.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
- Coordinate restoratives with other departments.
- Assist in orientation of new staff when needed.
THERAPY FUNCTIONS
Be alert to resident’s response to treatment. Notify Physical Therapist, Restorative Supervisor or Director of Nursing Services immediately for assistance if required.Assist in transporting resident to and from physical rehabilitation room / area.Perform restoratives in resident’s room as necessary.Brief resident of procedures involved in restoratives and prepare necessary equipment.Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed.Demonstrate to resident and nursing personnel, as necessary, the use of medical appliances involved in restoratives (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices).Assist in preparing resident for treatment by dress / position and administer restoratives in accordance with established policies and procedures.Reassure resident before and during restoratives.Initiate individual restorative program for residents in conjunction with the resident’s plan of care.Encourage resident to perform and / or participate in daily ADL functions.Requirements :
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent, and CNA Certification.EXPERIENCE
None required. On-the-job training provided by a Restorative Supervisor.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Must have initiative to carry out assigned task with / without constant supervision.Must be able to write the English language in a legible and understandable manner.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.Must possess the ability to interpret the policies and procedures of physical rehabilitation.Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and staff.Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in a legible and understandable manner.Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies and outside agencies.Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and push / pull a minimum of 50 pounds of force.Must be able to push, pull, lift, and move therapy equipment and supplies.Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
Salary : $17 - $20
