Job Summary
At Sunset Theater, our mission is to revitalize the movie going experience and enrich our community by providing an exceptional cinematic experience. We are dedicated to curating a diverse selection of first run films and all-time classics that inspire, entertain, and bring joy to our patrons. As an Assistant Manager you will work with the founding partners and the GM to ensure a welcome and rewarding experience to anyone who visits our theater.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all aspects of the venue, including concessions, inventory and janitorial services.
- Monitor safety and company service standards to ensure a best-in-class experience for patrons and staff alike.
- Full understanding of opening and closing duties to manage staff accordingly.
- Provide outstanding customer service, addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Supervise staff during shifts, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance levels.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies for improving guest satisfaction.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, ensuring all details are meticulously organized and executed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the venue.
- Assist with movie scheduling.
- Monitor projection and audio systems to ensure optimal viewing experience for our patrons.
- Manage cash handling and ticketing processes, to ensure accurate transactions and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a managerial or supervisor role at a cinema or other hospitality focused industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven success in scheduling and shift management.
- Previous experience in cash handling and financial reporting.
- Previous experience with hospitality or ticketing POS a plus.
- Basic understanding of computers and network platforms.
- Special event planning and management is a plus.
- An interest in film culture and filmmaking is a bonus!
