Description
Position Purpose
The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and building systems for the assigned property. This position takes daily assignments from the Director of Engineering and supervisor. The ideal candidate will take ownership of all assigned work orders and other tasks, completing them on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Must be able to work PM Shifts and Weekends, shifts will vary depending on hotel needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform the day-to-day maintenance and repair of building systems such as lighting, plumbing, electrical and structural (doors, ceilings, flooring etc.) Complete light duty construction if needed which include (patching, sanding and painting).
- Performs repairs as needed on mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Performs engineering projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
- Maintains cleanliness of storage rooms, maintenance room and flammable storage rooms.
- Ensures fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers) are operational.
- Notifies the Director of Engineering when major repairs are needed.
- Ensures that all maintenance tools are in good working condition and stored neatly and securely in the maintenance room.
- Performs other tasks as needed by other departments.
- Complies with all OSHA, ADA, and other safety and security policies.
- Assist other engineers and mechanics in repairs.
- Corrects guest room heating and air conditioning malfunctions.
- Repair and/or install defective HVAC equipment.
- Demonstrates courteous, friendly professional work environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and employees.
- Participate in 24/7 On-call rotation as directed by supervisor.
- Report to work on time, in proper clean uniform.
- Must wear safety attire (shoes, headwear etc.)
- Reports all unsafe conditions and suspicious activities.
