What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector A1 position at Sunset?
Our Jonestown Distribution Center, a 218,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The essential function of this position is to assist the Quality Control team with daily activities and ensure that all product meets customer specifications and to proactively prevent rejections.
Rotational Full Time Shift: 3 Day & 4 Day Week: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Ensure allocation is followed, validate correct product is pulled and shipped to customer
- Ensure that all product inspections are being performed, labeling specifications are adhered to and non-conformance product is pulled and corrected.
- Flex between the shipping and receiving docks and production department to assist with quality control inspections and/or inspections
- Report any exceptions to customer specifications to department leaders
- Send out quality issues emails for non-complaint product
- Oversee floor operations when department leaders are unavailable
- Ensure product packaging is in presentable conditions and of the highest standards for our customers
- Perform any other quality control related tasks or special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1 year of experience in a related field required. (quality, inspection, audit)
- Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally; Spanish as a second language would be an asset.
- Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, JDA or NAV experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in our refrigerated warehouse, 50-degree controlled temperature zones with background noise at 70 dB.
- Stand and walk for the entire shift
- Lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodations
- Visual and audio sensory are needed regularly.
