INTAKE STAFF FULL TIME

Sunshine Acres Boutique and Donation Center is apart of Sunshine Acres Children's Home. A non-profit located in Mesa, AZ that has served over 2,000 children since opening in 1954. In compliance with DCS regulations, Sunshine Acres Boutique and Donation Center and Sunshine Acres Children's Home require clear background check and drug screenings. Job Overview
We are seeking a enthusiastic and dedicated Seasonal Intake Staff to join our team This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and support within our community. As an intake Staff, you will play a vital role in assisting with receiving donated items through our intake drive that contribute to the overall well-being and development of those we serve.

This position is available for part time and full-time opportunities with Mondays and Saturdays required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Offload donations from donor’s vehicles and place them in bins.

2. Move K carts of product inbound and outbound for the sorters.

3. Receive and move all furniture indoors upon delivery by drivers or donors.

4. Load out customer’s furniture as needed throughout the day.

5. Assist in moving any furniture & fixture in the store as needed by the Assistant Retail Manager.

6. Assist with children’s home (Maintenance requests, Ponderosa house requests, etc.)

7. Keep the intake/sorting areas neat, clean, and organized for efficiency and safety.

8. Clean up Bell Tower space every morning upon arrival.

9. Dispose of all trash & metal in respective bins.

10. Palletize outdated furniture weekly to support retail team.

11. Load all cloth/misc. trailers with outbound merchandise.

12. Always keep walkie on to pivot with changing business needs.

13. Is able to daily perform any of the required job duties within the processing team. This includes all requirements related to accepting donations, presorting, and pricing merchandise.

14. As needed, welcome donors in a timely manner in a way that they feel confident that Sunshine Acres appreciates them and understands their value.

15. As needed, handle the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the Sunshine Acres story, repeating details back to donor and issuing a receipt.

16. Help maintain clean and well-organized reception, pre-sort, and processing areas.

17. Personal cell phone use is to be kept to an absolute minimum and must be done away from the processing floor.

18. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Must be a people person with a pleasant and willing attitude and have a servant’s heart.

2. Must have a friendly, smiling demeanor.

3. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with an excellent command of the English language.

4. Ability to write in legible clear handwriting.

5. Excellent organizational skills.

6. Must have a commitment to Sunshine Acres’ mission and mission statement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required.

1 years’ experience in intake, warehouse, or processing work preferred.

Moderate physical activity. Depending on location, this position may require frequent strenuous activity. Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Use hands to lift, sort, clean, organize throughout a standard workday. Depending on location, this position may work in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure throughout the workday.
