About Sunshine:
Sunshine Communities, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Northwest Ohio supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through residential, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, and recreational services. These services are offered in various circumstances including at our Maumee, Ohio campus and at homes within the community. In addition to programs on campus, Sunshine individuals and staff operate Georgette’s Grounds, a coffee shop, and Sunshine Studios, an art studio space and gift store offering classes to individuals and the community; both are located in downtown Maumee.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year food service/health care experience is highly desired
- Experience in health care is preferred
- Preference is given to candidates with some education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent and 18 years or older
- Valid Driver’s License, good driving record, proof of auto insurance
- Able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and physical
- Able to lift 60 pounds
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following
- Stocking items for the Market as assigned
- Submit orders, inventory, and rotate beverages in the market and at the vocational building
- Prep food items to be sold in the market, rotate inventory of items, and monitor freshness and presentation of food
- Ensure quality and a variety of food items are offered in the market
- Prep meals for Sunshine’s Get It To Go meal program
- Print food labels and input nutritional information for labels, competence with the use of the dietary computer software
- Develop a calendar of menu items and process of food orders in conjunction with the manager/supervisor
- Pick up orders from vendors
- Cooks food by following menu, standardized recipes, and production sheet, for all meals as scheduled
- All food and beverages are to be prepared to proper consistencies
- Taste and smell prepared food items to determine quality and palatability, and ensure the presentation of food in the market and to-go items are pleasing to customer satisfaction
- Follow therapeutic diets as prescribed by a physician
- Responsible for following production sheets, along with dishing up/serving food to meet portion control and food analysis
- In the absence of a Dietary Manager or Dietary supervisor, the market tech will provide quality control for one or more workers
- Helps train dietary workers. (IST training sheets)
- Notify the Dietary Manager of food, supplies, or equipment needs, and report equipment breakdown and unsafe conditions
- Follows safe food handling procedures; monitors/documents temperature of meals through preparation and service to ensure temperatures are maintained throughout meal service
- Checks shipments and puts away stock; sees that food is stored properly; receives donations
- Assists with general inventory, stocking, and ordering as needed
- Complete scheduled daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties
- The market tech is responsible for opening, and closing the dietary department
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager
- Attend mandatory meetings and in-service training
