Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for an Environmental Services / Household Hazardous Waste technician at our Spokane Valley, WA facility. This is a full -time, four (4) days per week ten (10) hours per day job. The current available shift is Saturday-Tuesday, 6 : 30 am to 5 : 00pm. The pay range for this job is $22.00-$25.00 depending on experience and certifications.
Refrigerant Evacuation Certification required. An Associates degree or Applied Associates Degree or Certification in Chemistry, Biology, Sanitation or Environmental Science with one to two (1-2) years relevant industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Class B or A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
Some OJT will be provided for company processes. Main Job Duties (duties may be changed as business needs warrant) :
Collect, document and prepare Household Hazardous Waste products for shipping, disposal or recycling.
Includes liquids, solids, and other commodities like batteries and fluorescent lights.
- Responsible for the proper identification and handling of household hazardous waste at intake.
- Prepares Documents and forms as required for waste documentation
- Bulks and prepares waste for shipment.
- Evacuate hazardous substances from refrigeration units.
- Keeps HHW area clean and accessible for customers.
- Delivers exemplary customer service to customers via verbal communication and physical direction.
- Attends all training and safety meetings as scheduled by the company.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Refrigerant Evacuation Certification required.
Must complete Forklift Training Certification upon hire
Must have current HAZWOPER training certificate, or complete upon hire
